Hope Donovan

Hope Donovan

Science and STEAM

Hope is a Kindergarten through 3rd Grade science teacher at a progressive independent school in Manhattan. She holds a Masters Degree from Mercy College in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in Special Education, and a B.A. from Louisiana State University where she studied Biology and Chemistry. She has created and runs an extremely successful STEAM and Robotics after school program and camp exclusively for students at her school. She is passionate about STEAM because the critical, creative, and analytic thinking and problem solving skills gained through STEAM prepares children for tomorrow’s global world. She lives in Jersey City and enjoys experimenting and exploring with her two young sons.
Justin Greer

Justin Greer

Dance and Theatre

Justin is a veteran of nine Broadway musicals, performing major roles in multiple productions. Concurrently, he has been a guest artist, teacher and arts administrator for numerous arts education organizations including Camp Broadway, Broadway Artists’ Alliance, Broadway Classroom, City Center, the BRAVO television network, US Performing Arts Camps, Moveable Arts, Arts Horizons and in the NYC public schools. Mr. Greer is now a full-time performing arts specialist on the faculty of a progressive independent school in Manhattan, teaching dance and theatre to students in Kindergarten through Third Grade. His approach to arts education is highly integrated into STEM subjects, and his holistic philosophy encourages a love of learning using multiple modalities. He extensively lectures and has held master classes in audition techniques, dance, acting, music and performance. He holds a BFA in Vocal Performance and Theatre from Carnegie Mellon University and partial master’s degrees from both Hunter College and New York University. He currently resides in New York City and Sarasota, Florida.

Tom Armstrong

Computer Science

Tom is Instructor in Computer Science and Director of Robotics at a New England independent school. Previously, he was the chair of Computer Science at a progressive independent school in Manhattan, and he was a tenured Associate Professor of Computer Science at Wheaton College in Massachusetts. He holds a doctorate in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and dual bachelor degrees in Linguistics & Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts. He was a Fulbright-Nehru Scholar at the North Gujarat University, India, the Resident Director of the international program at the Royal Thimphu College, Bhutan, awarded the US-Egypt Science & Technology Junior Scientist Award from the US Agency for International Development, and the recipient of the Marion & Jasper Whiting Fellowship. His research interests include computational natural language acquisition and machine learning in cyber-physical systems. He is the author of over 20 peer-reviewed publications. He currently resides in Massachusetts.
